Spellmeiers to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Roger Spellmeier and Beverly Jean (Tracy) Spellmeier will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 27.
They were married on Dec. 27, 1970, at the Sabetha Baptist Church, and they honeymooned in New Orleans.
In 1974, they welcomed a son, Keith, who has four children, Brooklyn, Kaiyn, Bostyn and Gatlyn. He and his family reside in Topeka.
In 1978, they welcomed a son, Wayne, who died at the age of two months.
In 1980, they welcomed a daughter, Arlinda. She and her daughter, Adrianna, reside in Olathe.
They purchased the family farm where they still reside in 1982. Jean taught school for more than 30 years, including third grade at Holton from 1976 to 1982. Roger worked at Goodyear in Topeka as an electrician for more than 30 years.
The couple currently enjoy attending their grandchildren’s activities, antiquing, water aerobics and frequent road trips to Branson.
