Smatlas to celebrate 50th anniversary

Larry and Linda (Olejnik) Smatla of Oskaloosa will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27. They were united in marriage in 1972 in Meriden.
Larry worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 40 years until his retirement in 2011. Linda, who graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1970, retired from Jefferson County in 2018 after working in the county clerk’s office for 37 years.
The couple’s children are Laura (Smatla) Turner and her husband, James, of Oskaloosa and Luke Smatla and his wife, Heather (Miller), of Lawrence.
Larry and Linda have four grandchildren, Garrett Turner, Lydia Turner, Logan Smatla and Gryphon Smatla.
