Murphys celebrate 60th anniversary
Steve and Sylvia Murphy of Alta Vista, formerly of Holton, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3.
They were married Sept. 3, 1966, at Troy United Methodist Church.
Both graduated from Holton High School. Sylvia is the daughter of the late Gordon and Dorothy Slimmer, and Steve is the son of the late Clarence and Frances Murphy.
The couple has two daughters, Barb McClintock and her husband, Steve, and their son, James, of Alta Vista; and Deb Reynolds and her husband, Kevin, and their son, Calvin, of Wichita.
Steve retired after 40 years at Kansas State University as a professor and department head emeritus from the Department of Interior Architecture and Product Design.
Sylvia retired after 35 years in the Department of Agriculture Academic Programs as senior administrative assistant emeritus.
Their love of family is their greatest joy. They will celebrate their anniversary with a family dinner.
