Couple to celebrate 50th anniversary
Roger and Barb Collins of Holton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next week.
On Feb. 21, 1976, at the First Christian Church of Holton, Roger Collins and Barb Miller joined hands and hearts, promising a lifetime of love and partnership.
Fifty years later, that promise has grown into a legacy of family, hard work and community that continues to inspire all who know them.
The couple have spent most of their lives rooted in the Holton community, where their dedication and work ethic became part of the town’s fabric.
For 11 years, they owned and operated Lee’s Flower Shop of Holton, bringing beauty, creativity and care to countless celebrations and milestones. Roger also owned and operated Grass Roots Pest Control and Lawn Care for more than 35 years, serving families across the area with the same reliability and integrity he brought to every part of his life.
Barb devoted 25 years to Denison State Bank, where her warmth and professionalism made her a trusted presence to customers and coworkers alike.
Now happily retired, Roger and Barb enjoy the life they built together - one centered on family and enjoying their grandkids events.
They are the proud parents of two children, Tanner Collins of Spring Hill and Tonya Raaf and her husband, Tyler, of Holton. Their greatest joy comes from their four grandchildren, Ian and Cole Collins and Tinley and Tye Raaf, who adore them and carry forward the family’s traditions of kindness, humor and togetherness.
As Roger and Barb celebrate their golden anniversary, their family and friends honor not only the milestone itself, but the example they have set: a reminder that true partnership is built through patience, shared purpose and a love that grows stronger with every passing year.
Cards can be sent to the couple at 24322 Q4 Rd. Holton, KS 66436.
