Carsons to celebrate 70th annivesary

Robert “Bob” and June (Hamlin) Carson will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 25.
Friends of the couple are invited to join the family that day at the Dinner Bell Café in Wetmore for cookies and drinks from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Bob and June met on a blind date in 1954 and were married on June 25, 1955, at the First Christian Church of Holton.
They made their home in Wetmore and started JBN Telephone Co. after taking over a telephone company owned by Bob’s parents. Bob was a lineman and June was a switchboard operator.

The anniversary celebration also coincides with Bob’s 90th birthday celebration, which is the same day and time at the Dinner Bell Café.
