Bergmans to celebrate 40th anniversary
Gene and Sonya Bergman will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 20, 1981, in Hoyt.
They lived on their 80-acre farm east of Mayetta for more than 36 years. The couple moved to Hoyt in June 2017 and are both members of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Mayetta.
Gene retired in 2002 as a machinist from Santa Fe after more than 37 years. Sonya worked as a cook for the Royal Valley School District for many years, retiring in 2005.
Together they raised four children, Pam (Mike) Moseley of Hoyt, Doug (Vicky) Bergman of Lawrence, Sara (Chris) Rose of Hoyt and Suzy (Jason) McCord of New Braunfels, Texas. They have eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
