Vets Club keeps breakfasts coming

Hats off to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary vets groups for providing Saturday morning free will offering breakfasts in the community for about three years and counting.

Ongoing volunteer activities like this take a lot of commitment and dedication. The VFW, American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary demonstrate time and again they have the right stuff.

If you haven’t enjoyed a breakfast at the Vets Club building in Holton on a Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. yet, then you are really in for a treat when you get there,

Last Saturday’s breakfast consisted of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice and/or coffee and it was all very good.

The menu for this coming Saturday morning (June 14) will be biscuits and gravy, eggs and French toast.

The menu for Saturday, June 21 will be biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and bacon.

The Holton Vets Club building is located at 926 W., Sixth St., just across the street north of Tarwater’s.

Proceeds from the free will Saturday morning breakfasts, like the proceeds from the upcoming Vets Club fireworks stand, stay in the community to help fund local Vets Club projects and improvements.

Breakfast at the Vets Club is a good way to start off your Saturdays. See you there sometime.
