Trump policies better than the status quo
Are you better off now financially than you were four years ago? If your answer is no, like me, then you will want to vote for change.
My vote for president is based on what I believe will improve the standard of living for me and my family.
The presidential race features former President Donald Trump (Republican candidate) versus current Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat candidate).
President Joe Biden was the Democrat Party’s original choice to seek re-election to a second term. He did not face any opponents for the Democratic Party’s nomination and won more than 1,968 primary delegates, more than the majority needed.
After a poor showing in the first presidential debate against Trump, however, the Democrat Party leadership forced out the sitting president Biden and installed VP Harris as the party’s presidential candidate.
The Biden-Harris administration has not been good for American pocketbooks. Everything costs much more now than it did four years ago.
Gasoline fuel prices at the pump, for example, are much higher now than they were four years ago.
Interest rates charged on auto and home loans are much higher now than they were four years ago.
Food items we purchase regularly at the grocery store are priced much higher now than they were four years ago. Electricity and heating costs are rising through the roof.
Inflation overall is much higher today than it was four years ago, taking more of our disposable income to pay for necessitites. Many Americans struggle more today to pay all of their monthly bills.
The Trump tax relief law of 2017 resulted in American workers paying less in federal taxes and keeping more of their hard-earned income in their pocketbooks. Democrat leaders say they want to end the Trump tax relief law.
As a country, the United States’ borders were more secure, by far, four years ago. Since then, more than 10 million immigrants have been allowed to enter our country illegally over rivers and barbed wire fences.
The Biden-Harris administration goes out of its way to send planes to foreign countries with the purpose of bringing back more immigrants and then provides them with cash, phones and benefits that American citizens can’t get.
One of the first executive orders of the Biden-Harris administration was to reverse Trump’s tough policies on securing the borders.
Here are just a few of Trump’s new ideas to help out Americans struggling to make ends meet.
*No federal payroll tax on tips earned.
*No federal payroll tax on overtime worked.
*No federal tax on Social Security income.
*Making interest paid on vehicle purchases tax deductible.
Trump advocates for legal immigration and law and order in this country. Trump advocates for utilizing our country’s own natural resources like oil and natural gas instead of importing the same from other countries.
Trump advocates for American workers and American industry. He will repeal the Democrat plan to force Americans to buy electric vehicles and allow a free market system to determine what kind of vehicles we drive.
Trump will seek fair trade with other countries. If other countries charge a tariff to accept the import of U.S. goods, then the same tariff will be charged to those countries seeking to export their goods to the U.S.
Harris, the Democrat candidate, does not seem to have any ideas of her own, and has difficulty addressing audiences without written, prepared remarks that she reads from a teleprompter. We have seen how that kind of figurehead works the last four years. Not good.
Biden, when he was runinng for re-election, indicated he would advocate for higher federal taxes. Since then, Harris and her handlers have signaled for increasing the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 28 percent.
Harris is on the record saying she can’t think of anything she’d do different from the last four years of the Biden-Harris administration.
At a recent campaign rally, when some people in the audience shouted “Jesus is Lord,’’ when the topic turned to abortion laws, Harris laughingly told them that she thought they were at the wrong rally and that they should go the smaller one down the street, to the cheers of many others in the audience.
Certainly, Christians have to wonder what Harris meant when she said that. There’s also a lot of unanswered questions about the runningmate of Harris - Tim Walz - due to his reported 30 trips to China over the years. From a national security viewpoint, American voters need to know if Walz’s interest/fascination with China compromises his ability to put U.S. interests first.
With Trump, I know where he stands and I don’t believe he can be bought and sold.
