William Frank Hill, 88, Holton, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Holton, the son of Thomas Logan and Ruth Elizabeth Arnold Hill. He attended Bateman Grade School and graduated from Holton High School in 1946.

Mr. Hill was a life-long member of the Holton farming community and was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member and also served on the board of directors for Farm Bureau, Jackson County Livestock, Extension Service, Soil Conservation Service, RC&D, Delaware River WRAPS and Holton Cemetery. He was a life­time member of First Christian Church in Holton and was also a member of Holton AF&AM 42 Masonic Lodge and Odd Fellows.

He married Sophie Louise Meyer on Feb. 13, 1955, in Manhattan. She died May 18, 2007.

Survivors include his children, Margaret Pagel and husband Henry, John Hill and wife Tammy and Henry Hill and wife Tracy, all of Holton, and Kay Rash and hus­band Mike, Circleville; a sister, Ruth Anne Irick, Holton; 10 grand­children, Will Pagel and wife Dora, Jenny Pagel-Guile and husband Greg, Melissa Tanking and hus­band Jason, Matt Pagel and wife Kelsey, Brandon Hill and wife Ra­chel, Cody Hill and wife Dana, Christa Hill, William Hill, Jason Rash and wife Rebecca and Trent Rash and wife Susan; and nine great-grandchildren, Maurico Pagel, Samuel Pagel, Greyson Guile, Granger Guile, Sawyer Tanking, Lorelei Tanking, Ryan Hill, Jaxon Hill and Nathan Rash.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Jackson County Fair Association or The Bicycle Unit at Lansing, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
