Willard Duffield 1935-2020

Willard Ivan Duffield, 85, of Hoyt, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at The Pines South.

He was born Feb. 15, 1935 in Hoyt, the son of Brice C. and Laura (Bolz) Duffield. 

Willard graduated from Denison High School in 1953. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman. Willard was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. 

Survivors include his nine nieces and nephews, Carlos Tichenor (Jerie) of Hoyt, Pam Mitchell (Randy) of Nebraska, Esther Askren (Mark) of Hutchinson, Curtis Tichenor (Kim) of Colorado, Dennis Tichenor (Jo) of Valley Falls, Lori Hinman (Lee) of Valley Falls, Galen Call (Jeannette) of Woodbury, Minn., Steve Call (LeEtta) of Shawnee and John Call (Cindy) of Olathe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brice and Laura Duffield; a sister, Thelma Tichenor; a brother, John F. Duffield; and a niece, Susan Mitchell. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
