Weston Gibbs 2011-2026
Weston “Wes” Dean Gibbs, 14, of Centralia, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Weston was born in Onaga on Dec. 16, 2011, to Jay and Emily (Zuniga) Gibbs. Weston completed his grade school and junior high education at Centralia schools and was eagerly preparing to begin his freshman year in August.
Wes had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loved and was loved. His big smile and beautiful eyes brightened up any room. He enjoyed playing junior high sports and was looking forward to participating in high school activities, especially football, baseball and golf. Weston and his buddies built “The Sandlot,” and he organized several wiffle ball tournaments over the last few years.
Wes was a member of Centralia Community Church, where he chose to be baptized at a young age. He was also a member of Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca, reflecting his strong passion for the game of golf. Wes was a hard worker and took great pride in working at Freddy’s Pizza Palace in Seneca and HC Inc. in Corning.
Wes was preceded in death by his grandma, Nancy “Nana” Zuniga, in October 2024.
Wes is survived by his loving parents, Jay and Emily Gibbs of Centralia; his siblings, Tava, Chase and Eva Gibbs of the home in Centralia; his brother, Drew, and his wife, Abbie of Centralia; his grandparents, Ron Zuniga and Don and Michelle Gibbs, all of Centralia; his great-grandma, Kate Hiltibrand, of Corning; and a large community of extended family, classmates, teammates and friends.
Wes will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 at the Centralia Community Church – West in Centralia. On Wednesday evening at the church, the family will greet family and friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at the Centralia High School gymnasium. Wes will be laid to rest in the Centralia Cemetery.
