Waller Spiker Jr. 1933-2024

Waller P. “Spike” Spiker Jr., 90, Holton, died Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his home.

He was born Dec. 15, 1933, the son of Waller P. Spiker Sr. and Lena Banks Spiker. He graduated from Mayetta High School in 1952.

Mr. Spiker worked most of his life as a truck driver for the Holton Truck Line. He also farmed and raised cattle. In his earlier years he had operated the elevator during the construction of Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, worked in the water department at the Sunflower Ordnance Plant and in construction for Pat Hershey.

He married Marilyn Bostwick on Nov. 24, 1956, in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Michael Spiker, Whiting, Lonnie Spiker and wife Sandy, Circleville, Les Spiker, Mayetta, and Alan Spiker, Holton; six grandchildren, Travis and wife Blake, Ashley and husband Corey, Dakota, Mandy and husband Matt, Sam and Casey; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vernon Spiker, who died in infancy, Bernard Spiker and Dorman Spiker; and a sister, Pearl Fulkerson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Spiker will lie in state after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
