Vivian Auten 1949-2026
Vivian Ann Auten, 77, of Holton, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Onaga Health and Rehab.
She was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Holton, the daughter of Milford L. and Beverly A. (Campbell) Scheid.
Vivian attended Holton High School and later earned her Certified Nurse Aide certification. She worked as a CNA for local nursing homes.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She married Glenn Auten on Aug. 31, 1985; they later divorced.
Survivors include her three children, Ronald T. Reiff (Vicki) of Atchison, Rhonda A. Wheeler of Holton and Anita J. Reiff of Topeka; a sister, Delores Wessel (David) of Holton; five grandchildren, Sara E. Reiff, Haley N. Reiff, Joshua L. Reiff, Jonathan L. Wheeler and Emily R. Howard; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Beverly Scheid; three brothers, Tony, Floyd and Donald Scheid; and a sister, Roxann Howerton.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is assisting the family.
