Tony Atwood 1990-2020
Anthony “Tony” Alan Atwood, 30, of Wetmore, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, in Phoenix, Ariz., from COVID-19 complications.
He was born Feb. 17, 1990, in Pomona, Calif., the son of Wm. Brian Atwood and Lisa Ann Robidoux.
Tony attended the Wetmore Academic Center from first grade until his graduation in 2008. Tony was also a member of Wetmore Bible Church.
Tony loved superheroes such as the Power Rangers, WWE, Hexgirls and Scooby Doo. He enjoyed going fishing and Sonic Happy Hour. His favorite music was always Garth Brooks.
He was a member of the Wetmore Superheroes team for Special Olympics, where he participated in bowling, swimming and track and field. He also loved to bowl in his spare time.
Tony had a great sense of humor and could light up a room with his joyous smile. He gave the best hugs anyone could give or receive.
Survivors include his mother, Lisa Robidoux (Edward); his father, Wm. Brian Atwood, of the home; two sisters, Jessica Atwood and Susan Atwood; and two nieces, NoraLee Langdon and Brandy Campbell, all of Wetmore.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, George and Ruth Covey, Clyde and Ruth Korb and Willis and Nora Armstrong; his grandmother, Norma Atwood; and his great-aunt, Paula Atwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Wetmore Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
