Tom Terry 1950-2019
Tom S. Terry, 68, Mayetta, died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Topeka, the son of Steve Terry Jr. and Alice Katherine Grice Terry. He graduated from Seaman High School.
Mr. Terry was a union operator in masonry construction.
He was a member of Operators Union Local 101.
He married Lana Mettler in 1971. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Angie Anderson and husband Bill, Topeka, Amy Sender, Hoyt, and Jana Beck and husband Jason, Lillian, Ala.; a son, Bud Terry and wife Caitlin, Topeka; his mother, Katherine Terry, of the home; a brother, Tony Terry and wife Carolyn, Plainville; two sisters, Jo Flowers and husband Aldred, Topeka and Debbie Langley and husband Paul, Eskridge; seven grandchildren, Auston, Aleigha, Emily, Sammie, Beau, Bryler and Reed; and a great-granddaughter, Ava. He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Terry will lie in state after 9 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3 in Hoyt Cemetery. Family and friends will meet by 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. A celebration of Mr. Terry’s life will be held at the family home following graveside services.
