Thelma Scroggins (1951-2022)

Thelma J. “T J” Scroggins, 71, Topeka, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022 at a nursing home in Topeka. She was born July 17, 1951 in St. Clair, Mo., the daughter of Vernon and Anna Mae Mumert Silver.

Mrs. Scroggins had several occupations, including a minister.

She married Jim Scroggins. They divorced. They had two adopted children, Glenn and Charis, and also two grandchildren.

Survivors include Carolyn Anderson (Larry), Don Brown (Pam), Janet Vickery, Darrell Pater, Charlotte Collingham, Duranna Crouch and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Fred L. Brown; and extended family Clarence Collingham, Sue Pater, Mike Vickery and Paul Crouch.

Graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Buck’s Grove Cemetery west of Holton. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1034, Holton, KS 66436.
