Sidney Kinsler 1947-2021
Sidney Clifton Kinsler, 73, Holton, died Monday, July 5, 2021, at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1947, in Columbia, S.C., the son of Olin M. and Louise Harris Kinsler. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1965 at Columbia, S.C. He graduated from The University of Kansas with a business certificate.
Mr. Kinsler served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969, during the Vietnam War. He was an applications engineer for Sprint, retiring after 31 years. He was awarded a U.S. Patent for Cirrus.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton, serving as a deacon for many years, a director of Tri-County Girls Softball Association for six years and a member of Johnson County Parks and Rec Basketball for eight years.
He married Donna Sue Brown on March 15, 1969, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Missy Miller and husband Keith, Fort Scott, Becky Frost and husband Robert, Clyde, Texas, and Katie Kinsler, Overland Park; a sister, Donna Ray and husband Gerald, Columbia, S.C. and six grandchildren, Courtney, Jacob, Madison, Audrey, Jaron and Kaylyn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
