Roxann Howerton 1956-2024

Roxann Louise Howerton, 68, Holton, died Friday, April 5, 2024, at her home with family by her side.

She was born April 3, 1956, in Holton, the daughter of Milford Lewis and Beverly Ann Campbell Scheid.

Ms. Howerton earned her Certified Nurse’s Aide designation and worked many years at Jackson County Nursing Home/Medicalodges Jackson County. She had also worked for Oldham’s as a stuffer operator and for a year at Sac and Fox Casino.

She married Roger A. Bohannon on Oct. 19, 1973, in Holton. He died in March 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Beverly Scheid; three brothers, Tony, Floyd and Donald Scheid; and a granddaughter, Angel Mary Beecham.

Survivors include a daughter, Nikki L. Beechman and husband Michael, Holton; a stepdaughter, Wendy Ehrhart and husband Ben, Mayetta; two sisters, Vivian Auten, Topeka, and Deloris Wessel and husband David, Holton; and two stepgrandchildren, Gretchen and John.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
