Rosie Brenner 1938-2025
Rosemary “Rosie” Brenner, 86, of Holton, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her home with family by her side.
She was born July 13, 1938, in Holton, the daughter of James and Ruby (Harris) Grannell.
Rosie graduated from Holton High School and attended Highland Community College.
She was a farmwife and homemaker. Rosie owned, alongside her husband, Brenner’s Corp. She was also a school bus driver for USD 377, Effingham school district.
Rosie was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church.
Rosie married George Raymond Brenner on Nov. 18, 1955, in Atchison. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2010, after more than 54 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gene Grannell.
Survivors include her son, Daniel A. Brenner (Marcia) of Holton; daughter, Pamela Rae Hatesohl (Mark) of Manhattan; six grandchildren, Michelle Elizabeth Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas, George Fielding Brenner of Olathe, Jessica Rae Hatesohl, Georgia Rose Hatesohl, Kari Lea Roulette of Topeka and Ricky Allen Cruse of Holton; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at Mercer Funeral Home; burial will follow at Larkinburg Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
