Ronald Moore 1949-2025

Ronald “Little Mo” Moore, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Delia on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025 under the loving care of a team of angels from St. Croix Hospice, nurses Kirstie, Tracy and Chrissy, after a decades long battle with PAD.

Ron was born in Oswego on April 29, 1949, the son of Albert and Oleta Campbell Moore. Originally from Arkansas, the family of four brothers and one sister put down their roots in Hoyt. Here Ron attended Hoyt High School, where he met and married Cathy Fuller, with whom he had two ornery daughters.

Ron worked for the railroad, then Goodyear, then owned a gas station in Hoyt with his brother Rick. He eventually hired on with KPL as a journeyman mechanic at Jeffrey Energy Center. He retired in 2010. Here he met his devoted partner in crime, Eileen Jackson. They were married on Nov. 1, 1992.

Ron is survived by his wife, Eileen, Delia; daughters, Rhonda Moore and Jeni Baxter (Tim), all of Holton; grandchildren, Chris Nocktonick (Rachel), Hoyt, Haley Ramsay (Zak), Aubrey, Texas, Tana Olberding (Kyle), Seneca, Katlyn Ensley (Matthew), Mayetta, and TJ Martin, Mayetta; great-grandchildren, Lakelyn, Maisyn, Harper, twins Nixon and Kash and Keaton; his siblings, Roger Moore (Kathy), Independence, Mo., Rick Moore (Barb), Topeka, Mary Neil (Rod), Ozawkie; and many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in Uncle Ronnie’s heart.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, led by a very special niece, Deedra Neil. We welcome any special memories or thoughts, either oral or written, if you wish to share. Dress will be casual, with Chiefs attire, as Ron was an avid fan. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time.

It was Ron’s wish to be cremated with a private family water burial at a later date. Memorials are suggested to his great-grandchildren’s education fund, payable to Edward Jones, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS 66440. Online condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com.
