Ronald Holt 1960-2015
Ronald Dee Holt, 54, Holton, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 17, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Donald Lee Holt Sr. and Loyola Spiker Rittenour. He graduated from Holton High School in 1980 and attended four years of sheet metal apprenticeship in Topeka.
Mr. Holt worked various jobs in sheet metal. He also worked for Armstrong Tire in Muscotah and for Jackson Farmers Co-op in Holton. He built and raced race cars at Topeka Raceway and at Thunderhill Speedway.
He attended First Baptist Church in Holton.
He married Jean Marie Morford on Feb. 26, 1983. They divorced.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Gerald and Loyola Rittenour, Holton; two daughters, Jennifer Metcalf and Cassity Holt, both of Holton; a sister, LeAnn Holt, Caney; two brothers, Donald Holt Jr., Topeka, and Rodney Holt, Holton; and two grandchildren, Clara Metcalf and Jamison Holt.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 16 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
