Rickey Cochran 1956-2015

 

 

 

Rickey Leroy Cochran, 58, Wetmore, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at his home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1956, in Wichita, the son of Jerry Duane Cochran and Doris “Jean” O’Neal Webster. He graduated from Jackson Heights High School.

Mr. Cochran served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He had worked for Hi-Tech Construction in Lawrence installing drywall.

He married Diane Nott. They divorced.

Survivors include his mother, Jean Webster, Topeka; his stepfather, William E. Webster, Whiting; two sons, Dakota “Cody” Cochran, Topeka, and Logan Cochran, De Soto; a daughter, Laine Cochran, De Soto; four sisters, Candice S. Schmitt and husband Douglas, Horton, Sandra L. Martin and husband Darrell, Netawaka, Rhonda R. Toth, Horton, and Thresa J. Bontrager and husband Russell, Netawaka; two brothers, J.D. Cochran and wife Rebecca, Altamont, Ill., and William D. Webster and wife Elizabeth, Topeka; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cochran, in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
