Rick Beatty 1946-2025
Richard “Rick” Arlen Beatty, 79, of Netawaka, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born Feb. 7, 1946, in Wiggins, Miss., the son of James Elmer and Annie Marilyn (Madden) Beatty.
Rick graduated from high school in Tuscola, Ill., and he served in the United States Army Reserves.
On April 28, 2000, Rick was united in marriage to Diana Marie Hale in Onaga. They shared 25 years of marriage.
He worked at Balderson in Wamego as a welder for more than 32 years where he built Caterpillar buckets. He worked seven years until retirement at Walmart in Holton in the sporting goods department.
Survivors include his wife Diana of the home; three children, Jacob Beatty (Mariah) of Wamego, Matt Moulden (Amanda) of Estes Park, Colo., and Alicia Moulden of Topeka; a sister, Hope Bergstresser (Jim) of Whiting; three brothers, William “Bill” Beatty (Jacque) of Tucson, Ariz., John Beatty (Bert) of Belvue and Bruce Beatty of Omaha, Neb.; and seven grandchildren, Jack, Eloise, Wynonna, Gentry, Alexander, Benjamin and Nathanael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie; a sister, Mary Ann Brazzle; and a brother, Jimmy Beatty.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Whiting. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at Mercer Funeral Home.
