Rex Pollock 1947-2015
Rex Allan Pollock, 68, of Castroville, Texas, passed away on April 12, 2015, in a San Antonio hospital after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 19, 1947, in Holton, the son of Allan W. and Mabel E. (Smith) Pollock. Rex graduated from Holton High School in 1965 and attended Washburn University.
He served in the United States Air Force before settling in Castroville, Texas. He retired from the San Antonio Fire Department after 30 years of service as a firefighter and EMT to his community.
Rex was preceded in death by both of his parents and one granddaughter, Angelica Faith Pollock.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Pollock, of the home; daughters, Melissa (Christopher) Ray and Elizabeth (Roger) Hernandez; sons, Richard Allan Pollock and Marshall Blue Pollock; grandchildren, Madisen Martinez, Audrey Pollock, Ethan James Hernandez and Christian Allan Ray; and a sister, Karen Bontrager of Wichita.
Rex was laid to rest at First Memorial Burial Park in San Antonio, Texas, with Military and Firefighter honors on April 18, 2015.
