Rex Pollock 1947-2015

 

Rex Allan Pollock, 68, of Castro­ville, Texas, passed away on April 12, 2015, in a San Antonio hospital after a short battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 19, 1947, in Holton, the son of Allan W. and Mabel E. (Smith) Pollock. Rex graduated from Holton High School in 1965 and attended Washburn University.

He served in the United States Air Force before settling in Cas­troville, Texas. He retired from the San Antonio Fire Department after 30 years of service as a firefighter and EMT to his community.

Rex was preceded in death by both of his parents and one grand­daughter, Angelica Faith Pollock.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Pollock, of the home; daughters, Melissa (Christopher) Ray and Elizabeth (Roger) Hernan­dez; sons, Richard Allan Pollock and Marshall Blue Pollock; grand­children, Madisen Martinez, Au­drey Pollock, Ethan James Hernan­dez and Christian Allan Ray; and a sister, Karen Bontrager of Wichita.

Rex was laid to rest at First Me­morial Burial Park in San Antonio, Texas, with Military and Fire­fighter honors on April 18, 2015.
