Phyllis Wilson 1930-2022

Phyllis Jean Wilson, 92, Holton, formerly of Mayetta, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at The Pines South.

She was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Bloomfield, Neb., and was placed for adoption shortly after birth. She was adopted by Guy Elwin and Cora F. Fitzgerald Devars in Omaha, Neb. She graduated from high school in Orleans, Neb., and had lived in Mayetta for more than 55 years.

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Security Benefit for many years. 

She married Earl S. Wilson on Dec. 4, 1949, in Orleans, Neb. He died Oct. 16, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Cora Devars. 

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Wilson and wife Thelma, Mayetta, and Jim Wilson and wife Liz, Raymore, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson and wife Nicole, Todd Wilson and wife Alison, Caitlin Morse and husband Mitch and Emily Carberry and husband Stephen; seven great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Connor, Timber, Tinley, Kennedy, Deacon and Wilson; and several biological family members. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Mayetta Cemetery.
