Patricia Wichman 1922-2017
Patricia Faye Wichman, 94, Holton, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Holton Community Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1922, at Swede Creek Township in Riley County, the daughter of Malcom and Ethel Bolejack Pickett. She had lived in the Holton community since 1957 and previously in the Clay Center area.
Mrs. Wichman was a homemaker and also owned and operated Ernie’s Second Hand Store in Holton with her husband for 15 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton.
She married Ernest F. Wichman on July 16, 1942, in Belleville. He died June 12, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Wichman, on Oct. 4, 2016; two grandchildren, Mary Patricia Wichman, on Dec. 14, 1966, and Gregory Allen Wichman, on Aug. 12, 1974; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Verlin Wichman and wife Sue, Holton, Allen Wichman, Topeka, and Kevin Wichman and wife Sandy, Circleville; two daughters, Carol Searles and fiance Rob Rolin, Denison, and Amy Spiker and husband Jared, Circleville; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wichman, Holton; a sister, Lavon Strawhacker, Kingman; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
