Patricia Lee 1949-2024
Patricia Elaine Lee, born on July 6, 1949, in Bonne Terre, Mo., passed away peacefully in the evening on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of Alvin E. and Lucy Mary (Govro) Korber and graduated from Meriden High School in 1967.
On Dec. 30, 1967, Patricia married the love of her life, Bobby Lee, who preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Korber.
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She is survived by two sons, Devin (Suzan), Shawnee, and Darin (Kandi), Burlingame. Patricia adored her five grandchildren, Parker (Niena), Tristan, Megan, Brendon and Jaydon, along with her cherished great-granddaughter, Avery. She is also survived by five sisters, Barbara (Francis) Koder of rural Lawrence, Mary (Jim) Dix, Vinita, Okla., Wanda Collins and Paula Debacker, both of Meriden, and Clara (Scott) Brown, Gravois Mills, Mo.; and a brother, Alvin “Ed” (Paula), of Coldwater, Miss.
Patricia was a dedicated worker, spending many years employed at USD 336/337 as a paraprofessional and 28 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield, retiring in 2009. Her coworkers and the community admired her for her loyalty, kindness and incredible work ethic.
Beyond work, Patricia cherished spending time with her family. She and her husband loved doing yard work together, a passion Patricia carried on with her grandchildren after Bobby’s passing. She also enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, filling their days with sweet treats and warm memories.
Patricia delighted in hosting family gatherings and parties, making holidays and special occasions unforgettable with her conversation and love. In her free time, she enjoyed playing dominoes and pinochle with her family and friends. One of Patricia’s greatest joys was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, a tradition she began with her beloved husband Bobby and continued with her family after his passing. These moments brought her immense pride and happiness.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 at Meriden United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, with burial to follow at Mayetta Cemetery. Patricia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bobby, who has been waiting for her. Memorials are suggested to Meriden United Methodist Church or Stormont-Vail Cancer Center of Topeka.
