Pat Hainline 1948-2026
Pat Hainline, 77, of Hoyt, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, at Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Nov. 2, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert and Geneva Strickland Thompson. She graduated from Topeka West High School.
Pat worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Merry Manor Nursing Home and later at Jackson County Nursing Home. She was a member of the former Christ’s Church in Holton.
Pat ran Christ’s Closet out of her home for 10 years. She loved to cook, bake, host barbeques and to help people in any way that she could. She also gardened and played the piano and organ.
She married Larry Hainline on May 17, 1987, at Mayetta Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2012.
Survivors include a son, Jeremy Hainline, Hoyt; three daughters, Trish Sutton (Neale), Hoyt, Sarah Moreau, Topeka, and Michelle Strickland, Clayton, N.C.; a sister, Janet DeWeese; and seven grandchildren, Hannah, Amanda, Glenn, Stephen, Annika, Rachel and Will.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will follow in Hoyt Cemetery. Pat will lie in state after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
