Myron Emmons 1938-2026

Myron Melvin Emmons Sr., 87, Horton, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1938, in Pasco, Wash., the son of Clifford and Freda Annadora Brockman Emmons. He graduated from high school in DeRidder, La.

Mr. Emmons spent 67 years as an over-the-road truck driver, retiring at the age of 85.

He married Teresa Moore on May 14, 1980, in Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Myron Emmons Jr. and wife Becky, Becky Tuttle and husband Mark, Janet Niemann and husband Jeff and Paul Emmons and wife Nita, all of Stroud, Okla.; a brother, Donald Emmons and wife Barbara, Weston, Texas; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Bennett; a grandson, Cole Evan Emmons; a sister, Merle Bolz; and three brothers, Gene, Devon and Wayne Emmons.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be held at a later date in Olive Hill Cemetery. Mr. Emmons will lie in state Tuesday morning prior to the service.
