Miguel Perez 2001-2023

Miguel Castro Perez, 21, Holton, died Friday, April 7, 2023, at his home.

He was born May 8, 2001, in Joyabaj, Quiche, Guatemala, the son of Maria Castro Perez. He attended schools in Joyabaj. He had lived one year in Holton and previously in Guatemala.

Mr. Perez was a self-employed landscaper.

He was a member of Evangel-Nueva Vida Church in Holton. 

He married Norma Jojana Matias Gutierrez. She survives. 

Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Castro Matias, Joyabaj, Quiche, Guatemala; his mother and stepfather, Maria and Andres Jimon Cortez, Holton; three sisters, Catilina, Jacinta and Daniela Jimon Castro, all of Holton; and three brothers, Pedro Castro Perez and wife Eloisa Siguantay Perez, Topeka, and Jamie Lopez Castro and Tomas Jimon Castro, both of Holton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at Evangel-Nueva Vida Church in Holton. Burial will be held at a later date in Guatemala.
