Michelle Scheidegger 1970-2022

Michelle Lee Scheidegger, 52, of Mayetta, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at her home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1970, in Nebraska, the daughter of Michael and Sheryl (Dean) Stremmel. 

Michelle graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1988, and after high school she received her certification as a CNA. She provided loving care to her patients at various nursing homes. Michelle continued her loving care for her family as a housewife and mother. She was also an avid dog lover.

Michelle married Charles Scheidegger on Oct. 22, 1994, in Holton. They celebrated more than 28 years of marriage. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Sheryl. 

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home; two sons, Michael Stremmel (Kelcie) of Topeka and Jonathan Stremmel (Shawna) of Topeka; a sister, Lacretia Porubsky (Mark) of Topeka; and four grandchildren, Rowan, Kaylin, Kaison and Raelynn. 

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 5 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial in Hoyt Cemetery will be held at a later date.
