Max Pfrang 1928-2016
Max Dayton Pfrang, 88, Goff, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 at Vintage Park in Holton. He was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Goff, the son of John E. and Alice M. (Thornburrow) Pfrang.
Max graduated from Wetmore High School in 1946 and later proudly served in the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of the Goff and Wetmore communities. Max was a farmer and stockman on the family farm in Goff his entire life. He was a member of the American Legion Levick-Barrett Post 282 in Wetmore.
Survivors include five nieces and nephews, Janet Stuke (Jim) of Tonganoxie, John Latham (Cathy) of Wetmore, Lila Krainbill (Milton) of Holton, Dennis Pfrang (Teresa) of Wetmore and Keith Pfrang (Tammy) of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister-in-law, Marian Pfrang of Goff; and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Max was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Latham; a brother, Robert Pfrang; and a nephew, Rick Pfrang.
There will be a short Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in Wetmore Cemetery. Family will greet friends 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday before the service.
