Margaret Settle 1943-2015
Margaret Evelyn Settle, 71, Mayetta, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born Dec. 20, 1943, in Wise County, Va., the daughter of Joseph Goffrey and Artie Baker Powers Gentry. She attended school in Virginia.
Ms. Settle was a homemaker and housewife.
She married James Marvin Settle. They divorced. She later married Glenn Perry. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Marvin D. Settle, in Colorado; a sister, Ila Dale, in Virginia; two brothers, Willard and Joseph Gentry, both in Virginia; and two grandchildren, Tyler Hards and Gretchen Keithley. She was preceded in death by a son, Goffrey Lynn “Jeff” Settle; two sisters, Patricia Kirkbride and Joanne Gentry; and four brothers, James B., Triva Ray, Eugene and Charles Allen Gentry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Ms. Settle will lie in state at the funeral home starting today.
