Lorma Hladky 1930-2017
Lorma Hladky, 86, Holton, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 18, 1930, east of Holton, the daughter of Osel Preston and Mildred Nickels Houston. She graduated from Denison High School and later graduated from Washburn University with a degree in business administration. She lived in the Holton community for 33 years.
Mrs. Hladky owned and operated Hladky Refrigeration and Repair with husband Floyd, retiring after 20 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Holton.
She married Richard Blue on Jan. 1, 1956. He preceded her in death. She married Floyd Hladky Jr. on Jan. 27, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Gary Blue and wife Stephanie, Fresno, Calif., Richard Blue and wife Cheryl, Topeka, and Roger Blue and wife Sheryl, Hoyt; a daughter Janet Blue, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Sharman Hladky, Holton; a stepson, Floyd Hladky, Holton; a brother, Ronald Houston and wife Doreen, San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Candice Fallgren; a brother, Paul E. Houston; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be held in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
