Lonnie Lovell 1950-2024

Lonnie Dale Lovell, 73, Holton, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.

He was born Dec. 7, 1950, in St. Claire, Ill., the son of Kermit E. and Agusta Mae Stephenson Lovell. He attended Cassville High School and later received his GED. He also completed college courses required to attain his trucking license.

Mr. Lovell worked as an over-the-road truck driver from 1989 to 2005. He also worked as a driver for the ambulance service and as a reserve deputy for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

He was a member of the Missouri Army National Guard, Holton VFW Post 1367, Lutheran Layman League, Barry County Missouri 4-H and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He married Carol Ann Bohnenkemper on Oct. 20, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Ron Lovell, Denison; a daughter, Malinda Gaston and husband Cody, Holton; eight grandchildren, Brittany and husband Colten, Clint, Timmithy, Larissa, Ashleigh, Autum, Jeffery and Noah; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Jayden, Grantley and Dominic; siblings, Debbie Frazier, Charles Aldridge and Mike Frazier; and a brother-in-law, Steven Bohnenkemper. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Champeau.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
