Linda Wenger 1951-2025
Linda Lee (Patterson) Wenger, 73, of Wetmore, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1951, in Horton, the daughter of Joe W. and Alice M. (Poos) Patterson.
Linda graduated from Whiting High School in 1969 and attended a couple years at Vo-Tech.
She was a data entry clerk for Yellow Freightliner for many years and had also worked as a cook at Aldersgate Village in Topeka and Prairie Band Potawatomi Casino in Mayetta.
Linda enjoyed crafting, decorating, cooking (especially Christmas candy with her family) and local card clubs.
Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer J. Dennon of Lawrence and Jannelle L. Welliver (Rick) of Wetmore; two sisters, Nancy J. Bower (Don) of Topeka and Sherry A. Burns (Rick) of Holton; brother, Steve Patterson (Donna) of Holton; five grandchildren, Josh Wenger (Alysha), Jessica Swart (Isaac), Sami Dennon (Jakob Katzenburg), Bryce Denton and Taylor Welliver; and seven great-grandchildren, Norah, Joe, Tucker, Henry, Waylon, Ellynn and “one on the way.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alice Patterson; and a sister, Marsha E. Abarr.
Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be held in Holton Cemetery.
