Linda Steinbrink 1948-2025

Linda (Achten) Steinbrink, 77, of Olathe, passed away on July 20, 2025, in Overland Park.

Linda was born March 12, 1948, in Sabetha to Harold Achten Jr. and Callie (Fields) Achten. She grew up on a farm north of Wetmore in Granada. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1966. She continued her studies at Kansas State University, where she was honored to serve as a cheerleader and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, graduating in 1970. Linda married Alan Steinbrink in 1969 during her senior year in college.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; two daughters, Tara (Danny) Sibert and Penny Steinbrink of Overland Park; two grandchildren, Raegan and Landon Sibert; a sister, Bobbi (Achten) Tonsfeldt of Independence, Mo.; and a brother, Philip (Sheryl) Achten of Escondido, Calif.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother, Freddy. Linda taught school for many years in Texas and Shawnee, retiring in 2013 from Maranatha Christian Academy.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Granada Cemetery.
