Linda Hale 1945-2025

Linda Darlene Hale, KiWeBa, 79, Mayetta, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 11, 1945, in Topeka, the daughter of Louis and Pearl Herrick Hale.

Ms. Hale had lived for several years in Wisconsin, where she worked as a physical therapy assistant. After moving back to Kansas, she was a bus driver’s assistant for Head Start.

She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Drum Religion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alan Hale and Louis Hale Jr.; and four sisters, Julia Deener, Cecilia Hale, Anita Hale and Joraine Tuckwin.

Survivors include two nephews, Martin Deener and Eric Deener; and many cousins.

A supper and wake will be held Wednesday evening, Aug. 6 at the Danceground Building west of Mayetta. Burial will be held Thursday morning in the Matwe-Shobney Cemetery. Ms. Hale will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.
