Linda Floyd 1957-2021

Linda K. Floyd, 63, of Holton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at her brother’s home with family by her side.

She was born Aug. 26, 1957, in Holton, the daughter of Don D. and Lela Faye (Fisher) Collins. 

Linda graduated from Holton High School and she lived in the Holton community most of her life. Linda worked in the Department of Revenue for the State of Kansas, for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2020. 

She married Timothy Lee Floyd Sr. on May 16, 1987, in Holton. They celebrated more than 33 years of marriage. 

Survivors include her husband, Tim; two sons, Christopher S. Hegemann (Candi) of Topeka and Derek A. Floyd of Holton; a stepson, Timothy L. Floyd Jr., in Texas; brother, Roger Collins (Barb) of Holton; four grandchildren, Emily (Michael) Child of Whiting, Hanna (Chad) Berens of Herriman, Utah, Mariah of Topeka and Braden in Texas; a great-granddaughter, Fynlee; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Hegemann; her mother, Lela Faye Collins in 1998; father, Don D. Collins in 2020; and two brothers, Donald L. Collins in 2016 and Gary D. Collins in 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
