Linda Fitzgerald-Simoneau 1965-2015

Linda Rae Fitzgerald-Simoneau, 49, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Meriden after a courageous battle with Huntington’s disease.
She was born Dec. 22, 1965, in Mayetta, the daughter of William F. and Alma (Ray) Fitzgerald.
Linda graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1984, excelling in music; receiving a scholarship from Washburn University. She has the amazing ability to play many instruments, emphasizing in piano. Linda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Washburn University and her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Kansas State University.
She was an elementary teacher for Valley Falls and Seaman Schools.
Linda married Mark Simoneau; they later divorced.
Survivors include a son, Colton Simoneau, of the home; and a brother, Rich Fitzgerald, of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Mayetta Cemetery. Family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
