Lauri Cole 1960-2026

Laurel Rose “Lauri” (Livengood) Cole passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at her home in rural Fairview from complications of metastatic melanoma.

Born Oct. 20, 1960, in Denver, Colo., to George Wilbur Livengood and Elizabeth Eichelberger Livengood, Lauri later moved to Sabetha, where her mother married Eldon “Red” Carver, whom she lovingly called her wonderful stepdad.

On May 22, 1982, she married Robert Frank “Buzz” Cole in Falls City, Neb.

Lauri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and daycare provider. She is survived by her husband, Buzz Cole; daughters, Melissa Cole Carpenter (Logan) and Linnea Cole Stover (Cory); grandson, Rolly Stover; brothers Jim (Ok Sun) Livengood and Brendan Carver (Becky Gunn); and many beloved family members and friends.

Lauri cherished time with family and friends. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she had a heart full of love and acceptance and was always willing to help those in need. She will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Sabetha with lunch to follow.
