Larry Eby 1939-2024
Larry R. Eby, 84, of Topeka, formerly of Mayetta, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his home with family by his side.
He was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Holton, the son of Arthur E. and Mildred (Wells) Eby.
Larry graduated from Mayetta High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a certified electrician, working for Union IBEW Local #226.
Larry was a member of the Mayetta Methodist Church, Mayetta Masons and the Eagles Club.
He enjoyed gambling and traveling to Arizona for the winter with his wife, Donna, to visit with family and friends.
Larry married Donna R. Price on July 12, 1963, in Mayetta. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2018, after 55 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred Eby; and a grandson, Brayden Wyre/Miller.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Kroll (Dennis), Glenda Tyler (Dirk) and Linda Eby (Tim), all of Topeka; a sister, Leetha Smith of Hoyt; a brother, Gene Eby of Mayetta; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
His greatest joy was his family, his wife, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment for Larry and Donna will follow at the Rossville Cemetery. Military honors for Larry will be conducted at the cemetery.
