Lana Sloan 1964-2014
Lana Kay Sloan, 50, Bonner Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at her home.
She was born July 6, 1964, the daughter of Vernice Ray and Karen Sue Wofford Zachariasen. She was a 1982 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School.
Ms. Sloan worked as a postmaster for several area U.S. Post Offices from October 1985 to May 2009. She was the postmaster at Holton from 2001 to 2007. She had been working at Sam’s Club in Lenexa for the past two years.
She married Randall Scott Sloan. They later divorced.
Survivors include her parents, Vernice and Karen Zachariasen, Basehor; two daughters, Ashlyn M. Sloan, Basehor, and Taylor S. Sloan, Lawrence; a sister, Sheri R. Killer, Kansas City; and a granddaughter, Ella Rae.
Celebration of life services were held Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Grantville United Methodist Church. Cremation followed the services with inurnment to be held in Meriden Cemetery at a later date.
