Kyle Riggles 1963-2023
Kyle Jack Riggles, 60, of Mayetta, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at his home.
He was born May 14, 1963, in Wamego, the son of Jack LeRoy and Dixie Joan (Wells) Riggles.
Kyle graduated from Royal Valley High School 1981. In his early years he managed a gas station for Clark Oil Company in Topeka. Kyle also obtained his CDL and worked many years driving over-the-road trucks with his father Jack. He worked most of his life as an automotive mechanic for Washburn University for more than 35 years.
Kyle loved working on motorcycles and his old truck. He was a member of ABATE of Kansas District 4. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He took much joy in cookouts, outdoor activities and spending time with his grandson, Clayton.
On Oct. 6, 1990, Kyle was united in marriage to Julie Kathleen Stewart at the Holy Name Church in Topeka. They shared more than 32 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Joan Alsept.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Riggles, of the home; his father, Jack LeRoy Riggles (Wanda) of Topeka; two sons, Joshua Paul Riggles (Nikita) and Anthony Kyle Riggles, both of Topeka; two sisters, Kristi Gaye Miller (Clint) of Mayetta and Jackie Renee Fox (Brad) of Topeka; four brothers, Cory Cecil Riggles (Tina) of Mayetta, Craig Myron Riggles (Christine) of Topeka, Lonnie Lee Riggles of Topeka and Cary Ray Riggles of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; a grandson, Clayton David Riggles; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
