Kenneth Varney 1949-2025

Kenneth Mack Varney, 75, Circleville, passed quietly on Aug. 3, 2025. Ken came from a military family and was lucky to serve with his brother Billy and his sister Sue. They were also in the Air Force.

He was drafted into the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, The “Walking Dead.” After returning home from Vietnam, he obtained his degree and accepted a commission in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain.

He leaves behind his wife Debra and their three children Allison Barnhart (Heath), Megan Milne (Lucas) and Jon Varney (Paige). His pride in and his love for them and his five grandchildren Lorna, Leif, Gavin, Ronan and Corbin was immeasurable. They filled a place in his heart and made him complete. No mention of his family is truly complete without recognition of his sister Sue and her family. She was a constant in his life and he adored her. He had four sons from previous marriages, Kendal, Kerwin, Kirby and Kraig. He will be missed.
