Kenneth Gesaman 1937-2023

Kenneth Allen Gesaman, 85, of Hiawatha, formerly of Wichita, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Maple Heights in Hiawatha.

He was born Nov. 18, 1937, in Morris, Okla., the son of Donald Kenneth and Ruby Grace (Bannon) Gesaman. 

Kenneth graduated from North High School in Wichita and attended Wichita State University and Baptist Bible College. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Friendship Bible Baptist Church in Wichita.

Kenneth assembled lanterns for Coleman Company; he retired after 43 years. He lived most of his life in the Wichita area.

He married Sharon Kay Jennings in 1967 at Wichita; they later divorced.

Survivors include his ex-wife and guardian, Sharon Beaman of Whiting; son, Scott Allen Gesaman of Wichita; and a granddaughter, Allison Gesaman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruby Gesaman; two sisters, Donna Pless and Virginia Huff; and a brother, Wayne Gesaman.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
