Georgia “Kellie” Ray, 71, Holton, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.

She was born June 23, 1943, in Westmoreland, the daughter of James and Margaret Higgins Keat­ing. She graduated from Onaga High School in 1961 and later that same year from Crums Beauty School in Manhattan.

Mrs. Ray operated a beauty shop in Netawaka for more than 20 years. She had also worked as a beautician in Wheaton, Onaga and Topeka. After moving to Holton she worked at PJ’s Restaurant, Medicalodges and Ann’s Home Health until her retirement in April 2015.

She was a member of St. Columkille Catholic Church at Blaine as a youth and later attended Netawaka United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Auxiliary to American Legion Post 44 in Holton, and Levick-Barrett Post 282 of the American Legion in Wetmore.

She married Gary L. Ray on Dec. 20, 1963, in Topeka. He died Jan. 2, 2000. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Marge Fox and Beatrice Feleay.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Ray and wife Lisa, Topeka; two daughters, Terri Robbins and hus­band Tracy, Circleville, and Tamie Hollar and husband Ron, Topeka; two brothers, Donald “Bud” Keat­ing, Wamego, and James Keating, Kansas City; four sisters, Mary Lou Finan, Nila Graf and Hap Scott, all of Topeka, and Bobbie Jordan, Parkville, Mo.; and nine grandchil­dren.

Cremation is planned. A memo­rial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton with visitation following the service. Inurnment will be held Friday in Netawaka Cemetery.
