Joyce Davis 1929-2025

Joyce Elaine Tribble Davis was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Kansas City and passed away Nov. 8, 2025, in Topeka at the age of 95.

Joyce was the only child of Scott Richard Tribble and Anna Marie Wilson. The family moved from Kansas City to Erie when Joyce was a small child and she attended grade and high schools in Erie. She attended Baker University for one year where she met and married Lee Duncan Davis.

The two of them established a film production business that engaged in making training films for the military and documentaries and TV commercials all over the world. Joyce did much of the writing and editing of the materials. They lived mostly in the Washington, D.C. area.

Later she and Lee divorced and Joyce moved back to Kansas City to care for her aging parents. After their deaths, Joyce chose to move to Topeka where she was closer to her Jackson County relatives who her father was close with during his lifetime.

She was a resident of Brewster Place for many years. She enjoyed the friends and activities at Brewster and volunteered often in the health care unit. She was a friend of Bill W. and was very active in carrying the message.

As her health declined, she moved to Homestead Assisting Living in Topeka where she spent her last few years. It was a lovely place and she was treated with love and compassion.

Her death came peacefully on Nov. 8, 2025, just a week short of her 96th birthday. She was finally at peace with her Lord.

Joyce was cremated and a private service and burial will be held later.

She is survived by her two first cousins, Sharon Schlegel of Gunnison, Colo., and Patricia Howard of Ponca City, Okla., as well as many other more distant cousins both far and near.
