John Kathrens 1939-2021

John Kathrens, 81, of Holton, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

He was born June 17, 1939, the son of Helen and Walter Kathrens. John lived in the Holton community and was a farmer and stockman. 

He married Janice H. Fraser on Sept. 30, 1961.

He is survived by a son, Dan Kathrens of Great Bend; his three daughters, Cindy Kathrens (Dave Jeanneret) of Onaga, and Pat Korte (Randy) and Sharon Hochard (John) both of Holton; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Cook of Holton and Kay McKeever of Hines, Ore.; and a brother, Wallace Kathrens of Holton. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Kathrens II on Oct. 26, 2000; wife, Janice (Fraser) Kathrens on June 22, 2012; sisters, Jean Baker, Evelyn Schultz, Frances Schuyler, Norma Walden, Audrey Howard and Barbara Clark; and brothers, Jay Kathrens, Philip Kathrens and Frank Kathrens. 

Private family inurnment will be held in Holton Cemetery.
