John Jenson 1936-2016
John J. Jenson, 80, Denison, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born March 26, 1936, in Denison, the son of Louis R. and Lou M. Crosswhite Jenson. He graduated from Denison High School and had lived in the Denison area all his life.
Mr. Jenson was a farmer and had also worked at Goodyear, retiring with top seniority in 1999.
He married Rita Rae Pierson on Feb. 12, 1956, in Denison. She died May 10, 1974. He was also preceded in death by his children, Jota Jenson, on Nov. 13, 1956, and Jena Rieschick, on March 11, 2011; a sister, Betty Thompson; and his brothers, Robert, Andy, Sam, Paul and George Jenson.
Survivors include his children, John Jenson and wife Deb, Leawood, and Jayne Rarrick and husband Steve, Topeka; and his grandchildren, Alex Jenson, Ashley, Kim, Michael and Emily Rarrick and Andrew and Justin Rieschick.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at Mercer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Denison Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
